If you've been dealing with pain that won't go away despite physical therapy, chiropractic, or massage — there's a reason. And it's not that you haven't tried hard enough. It's that most treatments are focused on the wrong target.

At Stellar Performance Physical Therapy in Pacific Beach, Dr. Carlos Archuleta uses the patented One80 System® — a methodology that goes beyond symptom management to find and fix the actual root cause of your pain and injury.

What Is the One80 System®?

The One80 System® is a patented evaluation and treatment process used by healthcare professionals to get to the root cause of orthopedic injury and discomfort. By assessing and treating neuromuscular inhibition — the breakdown in normal nerve-to-muscle communication — the One80 System® quickly and effectively eliminates symptoms like pain, swelling, and loss of motion.

Through unique post-graduate training, One80 System® professionals have the ability to quickly assess total body function and specific muscle function. Once neuromuscular inhibition is identified, they can re-establish normal nerve and muscle communication — which is what decreases and eliminates the issues that cause pain and injury at the source.

Professionals who practice the One80 System® have completed five months of specialized training including 20 hours of hands-on lab work in addition to their post-graduate degrees. This allows them to provide patients with uniquely personalized care that goes far beyond what traditional physical therapy offers.

Dr. Archuleta's One80 System® Training

Dr. Carlos Archuleta, PT, DPT spent a year training directly under the creator of the One80 System®, Dr. Rhett Polka PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS — working in his clinic and developing the precision assessment and treatment skills that define the One80 approach. That hands-on clinical experience under the system's founder is what sets Stellar Performance PT apart from any other clinic in Pacific Beach.

Why Is the One80 System® Different From Traditional PT?

The One80 System® is a fundamentally different treatment approach from conventional physical therapy. At Stellar Performance PT we use the One80 System® to find the root cause of your issue and improve your overall functioning — not just reduce your pain temporarily.

Traditional physical therapy tends to focus only on the symptoms of your pain. The One80 System® asks a deeper question: why are those symptoms there in the first place?

The One80 System® vs. Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT)

The One80 System® is sometimes compared to Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT). Both assess the neuromuscular system — but there are major differences. The One80 System® provides a broader, more robust toolset for achieving lasting, resilient results.

A key distinction is the functional screen performed before and after the assessment. This gives us critical information about how your body moves and what limitations exist. By assessing the whole body rather than just the area of complaint, we can find exactly where the root cause of your dysfunction is occurring — and address it directly.

Why Don't Other Treatments Work?

Conventional physical therapy does not focus on overall functioning. Instead it attempts to eliminate pain by treating only the symptoms — which is why so many patients get temporary relief but the pain keeps coming back.

You'll find many modalities used in conventional PT — dry needling, massage, foam rolling, cupping, and electrical stimulation. While these can provide short-term relief, they are ineffective at finding the root cause of the problem. They are temporary fixes to a problem that requires a root cause solution.

The One80 System® is specifically designed to find and eliminate neuromuscular inhibition — the underlying dysfunction driving your pain and injury. When the right muscles fire correctly, compensation patterns break down, symptoms resolve, and results last.
